Tasting Notes
Vino: Cascina del Torcc Barolo 2015, Piedmont, Italy
Fiori: Viola sororia, the wood violet
This month's wine is a personal Nala favorite— an incredibly fair-priced Barolo that offers all the emblems of the legendary Piedmontese wine.
Hints of tobacco, cedar, and leather on the nose, with intense tannins and structure to be expected of the majestic Nebbiolo grape. Progresses with wild black fruits and purple flowers on the palate.
Our flower pairing is none other than the wood violet, a species that beautifully lends a connection back to the wine's roots— Northern Italy's high altitudes.
